MPA Committees

MPA wants you to help us, help you. In the last year, we have made strides to improve member engagement, but we still want more member involvement. We have several committees that are looking at the various services MPA provides and creating ways to expand and advance what they can do for current and future members.

Please review the list of committees below. Choose one you would like to participate in and shape the future for MPA Members:

MEMBERSHIP/MARKETING:

This committee is in the midst of planning to promote our new membership categories and generating new ideas to retain current members. If you’d like to be involved in helping grow MPA please contact lisa@michiganpress.org

PROGRAM:

This committee will be working on several projects in the coming year including webinar development, training sessions and other opportunities to bring members together. The program committee will be meeting soon to begin implementing plans for the 2018 MPA Annual Convention. If you have ideas for speakers, topics you think members would be interested in learning about or brilliant networking ideas, this is the committee for you! If you are interested in this committee, please email lisa@michiganpress.org

COMMUNICATION:

The goal of this committee will be to develop messages that help raise and expand the image of newspapers in Michigan and the presence of MPA by looking at how we communicate with our members and Michigan citizens. For a spot on this committee contact brittiany@michiganpress.org

PUBLIC AFFAIRS:

As your voice in the halls of government, MPA looks to members for guidance and help to strengthen our message on open government, public notice and the business issues that impact Michigan newspapers. If you have an interest in politics and policy, please consider lending your voice to this committee. For more information contact lisa@michiganpress.org

CONTEST:

The Better Newspaper Contest is a favorite of MPA Members. As our membership grows and expands to individual members and online publications, the contest committee will be looking at the various categories for the contest and pinpointing new categories to encompass all members.
