Greetings MPA Foundation Scholarship Golf Benefit supporters.

It is time to mark your calendars for the 38th Annual MPA Foundation Scholarship Golf Benefit. Our group is on the schedule at the beautiful Mt. Pleasant Country Club on Thursday, August 22, 2024.  Our annual event tees off at 11 a.m. when the shotgun sounds. The registration tent will open at 9:30.

Once again, we will be playing 18 holes of alternate-shot scramble golf — our traditional format. The course will be filled with foursomes like yours who support journalism and journalism education at some of Michigan’s finest colleges and universities — and now, journalism education for community college students.

The Foundation Scholarship Golf Benefit is the largest annual fundraising event which supports the Foundation’s scholarship mission. Started in 1990, the Foundation Scholarship program has awarded nearly $500,000 to Michigan students studying journalism at Michigan colleges.

Your registration supports that mission. Your fee in Mt. Pleasant includes practice range balls, lunch, a reception following golf, dinner, silent auction and awards.

We will crown a Low Gross champion team, a Low Net champion team and a Foundation Putting Contest winner.

There will also be fun events on the course which you can use to showcase your skills — driving, chipping and putting. Take home hardware for flexing your golf muscles.

The cost to participate remains the same this year — $700 for a foursome or $200 for a single, twosome or three golfers — if paid before the Early Birdie registration deadline of July 31. After the deadline, the prices are $800 for your foursome or $250 for one, two, or three golfers.
