Gongwer News Service + Michigan Press Association

Gongwer News Service is pleased to partner with the Michigan Press Association to provide eligible MPA member newspapers and their readers with stories from our team of reporters at the state Capital.

Through a partnership with MPA, eligible member newspapers who sign up for a special subscription can select up to five Gongwer Stories per week to republish in print and online.
Besides putting the power of Michigan’s Capital reporting team to work for your readers, each subscribing MPA member also will have access to read all Gongwer news stories you think are the best fit for your readers.

At a time when resources are scarce, the Gongwer-MPA partnership provides your newspaper and your readers with ample, high-quality content on state government and politics.

What kind of stories can I expect?
Gongwer reporters cover all aspects of state government, especially the Legislature, but also the governor, state departments and agencies, the courts, competitive elections for state and federal office in Michigan, ballot proposals (local and statewide), and much more. If there’s a newsy bill seeing activity in the Legislature, Gongwer is writing about it.

How do I sign up?
Contact MPA, [email protected] for more information. Gongwer will then set up a user account. Invoicing and payment are processed by the MPA.

Once I sign up, is help available so I know how to use the services?
Yes! Gongwer is happy to provide demos via Zoom to get you up and running. Contact Jim or Zach Gorchow, [email protected], for demo.
